“World Food Day” A Public Service Message from Student Affairs Department

World Food Day is observed annually on 16 October to highlight the millions of people worldwide who cannot afford a healthy diet and the need for regular access to nutritious food. We need to build a sustainable world where everyone, everywhere has regular access to enough nutritious food. Many of us have a very bad habit of food waste. Buying more food than we need, letting fruits and vegetables spoil at home or taking larger portions than we can eat. Let this be an opportunity to advise you all that “Do Not Waste food. Let this be a day and onwards to also spread the word ‘Not To Waste Food”. Let’s be responsible people.

خوراک کا عالمی دن ہر سال 16 اکتوبر کو منایا جاتا ہے. حالیہ” سیلاب سے آنے والی تباہی کو مد نظر رکھتے ہوئے ہمیں خوراک کے بے جا ضیاع  سے بچنا ہے تاکہ ہر شخص کے لئے خوراک کی مسلسل فراہمی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے  “۔

Project Topi Ramzan Ration Drive 2022

Ramadan is a holy month of blessings which comes to teach us moral fortitude and strengthen brotherhood among Muslim community but most importantly it imparts upon us the sense of empathy. Ramadan is all about allowing ourselves to understand the situation of less fortunate, to feel and experience the pain of hunger and the pangs of thirst that our poverty-stricken brothers and sisters who are often forced to go without food and drink, feel every waking day. Project Topi started Ramadan Ration Drive to support the poor and deserving families in GIK Institute and near community. Following were the items for each ration bag:

  • 10kg atta
  • 2kg sugar
  • 1 pack Lipton
  • 1kg daal masoor
  • 1kg safaid chana
  • 1kg khajoor
  • 2kg Baisan
  • 1 bottle Roh-Afza
  • 2 packs oil

 

Cost of each bag Rs. 2700

With the help of numerous donations from internal and external donors and with the cooperation from various student societies at GIK Institute, Project Topi was successful to raise funds for its Ramzan ration Drive.

Total count for this Ramadan ration drive’22 reached 380. They distributed ration packages to deserving people on daily basis making sure all deserving families are in comfort and with food to feed their loved ones.

Donations for Mess Bill of needy student

A student from batch 25 studying on scholarship completed his degree in 6 years. He lost his father and went through a rough phase both personally and financially. Project Topi successfully raised donations for a needy student to pay his mess bills. He required help in clearing his mess bill of Rs.61000 accumulated over the years, so that he could finally get his degree. Project Topi successfully raised donations for the student to pay his mess bills.

 

 

Project Topi Mess Bill Assistance Program

Project Topi, the only welfare society of GIK institute, is offering mess bill aid to students who can’t afford to pay their mess dues due to their financial conditions. Last year, Project Topi offered assistance to more than 21 students. We ensure that candidates are deserving, and they get sufficient amount for their mess dues. It is mandatory to fill the google form for applying mess bill aid.
