Research Interests:

Cyber Security, Intrusion Detection/ Prevention System, Cryptography, Penetration Testing, Internet of Things (IoT), Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs), Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), Wireless Communication, and Medical Image Processing.

Biography:

Dr. Shahab Haider received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from University of Peshawar, Pakistan in 2003, and the M.S. degree in Information Technology from Institute of Management Sciences, Pakistan in 2014 with distinction as Gold Medallist. He completed his PhD in Computer Engineering in 2020 from the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Engineering (FCSE), Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan. Shahab was with the Institute of Business and Management Sciences, University of Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan as a Lecturer from 2006 to 2010. He also served at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Ministry of Health, Pakistan from 2011 to 2016. After his services at KPK Ministry of Health, he worked at GIKI, Pakistan as Ph.D. Fellow cum Lecturer from September 2016 to June 2019. In August 2019, he joined City University of Science and Information Technology (CUSIT), Pakistan as Lecturer. He was promoted to Assistant Professor at CUSIT in September 2020. After being further promoted, he served CUSIT as Associate Professor at CUSIT from June 2022 to December 2024. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at GIKI since December 2024. Moreover, he is a member of the Telecommunications and Networking (TeleCoN) Research Center at GIKI. Dr. Shahab is also working as reviewer with various reputed journals. His major research interests include Computer Networks, Mobile Ad hoc Networks, Vehicular Ad hoc Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks, and Network Security.
