Dr. Muhammad Salman is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). Prior to this role, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan (February 2024–December 2025), and as a Research Professor at the Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH), South Korea (February 2023–February 2024). Earlier in his career, he also served as a Lecturer at Effat University, Saudi Arabia, for five years (2014–2019).

Dr. Salman holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a specialization in Computer Science and Engineering, from Inha University, South Korea. He completed his M.S. in Electronic Engineering through a joint program at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and earned his B.S. in Electronic Engineering from BUITEMS, Pakistan.

He has received several prestigious international awards and scholarships. He received the Best Project of the Year Award for completing the project titled “Contactless Vital Signs Detection in Vehicular Environments Using mmWave,” funded by Hyundai Motors at KENTECH. He also earned the Runner-Up (Second Best) Award for developing a “Spy Camera Detection” application in an inter-university competition at Inha University. His doctoral studies were fully supported by the Global Vision Scholarship, while his master’s research at Chalmers University of Technology was funded through the Erasmus/LLP Scholarship. He also graduated with a Gold Medal in his undergraduate studies, achieving a CGPA of 3.92/4.0.

Dr. Salman’s research interests span Cybersecurity, Contactless Sensing, Computer and Wireless Networks, and Signal Analysis.
