Professional Experiences:
Dr. Muhammad Furqan has twenty (20) years of professional experience across academia, public-sector Audit and Accounts industry. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor (Accounting and Finance) in the School of Management Sciences, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (Sept, 2025).
- Before joining GIKI, he served as a Gazetted Officer (Instructor/Senior Auditor) in the Government of Pakistan, Pakistan Military Accounts Department, attached department of Ministry of Defense appointed through FPSC Examination (2017 – 2025).
- His prior academic roles include Lecturer (Finance) in the Department of Business Administration, Iqra National University Peshawar (2014–2017) and CECOS University of IT & Emerging Sciences (2009–2014).
- He began his career as a Business Analyst in a Business Consultancy firm Saigol Associates (Pvt) Ltd Peshawar (2006–2007).
- In addition, he has over five years of visiting faculty experience at Bahria Business School, Bahria University Islamabad (2021–2024), the Institute of Management Studies and Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Peshawar (2014–2015), and City University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar (2008–2009), along with earlier service as a National Intern Officer (BPS-17) under the Government of Pakistan, National Internship Program at Foreign Training Section, Planning & Development Department, Civil Secretariat Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar.
Qualifications:
Dr. Muhammad Furqan holds a PhD in Management Sciences (Finance) from International Islamic University Islamabad (Dec, 2023), where his doctoral research examined the impact of stock liquidity, earnings management, product market competition, and environmental uncertainty on corporate tax avoidance, with corporate governance as a moderating factor.
He completed his MS (M.Phil) in Management Sciences (Finance) from the IBMS, The University of Agriculture Peshawar (2013).
He earned his MBA in Finance from the Institute of Management Sciences (IM|Sciences), University of Peshawar (2007).
He did Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics from the University of Peshawar (2004).
Dr. Muhammad Furqan successfully earned professional development certifications that reflects a deliberate and sustained journey through some of the world’s most distinguished universities, each milestone strengthening his expertise in finance, analytics, and emerging digital technologies.
