Dr. Mian Muaz Razaq

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea

Research Interests:

Physical Layer Security, IoT, Fog Computing, Deep Reinforcement Learning

Dr. Mian Muaz Razaq has focused his research on wireless communication security, Internet-of-Things (IoT) architectures, and intelligent resource optimization for next-generation networks. During his Master’s research, he worked on fog and cloud computing, developing Integer Linear Programming (ILP) models and dynamic programming algorithms to enable secure, privacy-preserving task offloading and latency minimization in multi-provider IoT environments. In his PhD research, he advanced Physical Layer Security (PLS) for Beyond 5G (B5G) and 6G systems using Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). His doctoral work addressed security across three key domains: secrecy energy efficiency in Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS)-assisted MISO systems, secure transmissions in healthcare-oriented Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) using Cell-Free Massive MIMO, and proximity-critical near-field communications with Extremely Large Antenna Arrays (ELAA).

From September 2025 to August 2026, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at CECOS University of Information Technology and Emerging Sciences, Peshawar, where he was actively involved in undergraduate teaching and academic development.

In August 2026, he joined the Department of Software Engineering at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) as an Assistant Professor. He is eager to pursue innovative research, mentor students, and drive interdisciplinary teaching and collaborations.
