Obituary: Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Khan, SI, Former Pro Rector, GIK Institute (1995 – 1998). Former Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Dean of Student Affairs.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Khan, SI, Former Pro-Rector of GIK Institute (1995–1998). A distinguished academician and engineer, he played a pivotal role in the formative years of GIKI, establishing graduate programs and state-of-the-art laboratories and guiding the Institute towards academic excellence.
Prof. Dr. Manzoor also served as Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Dean of Student Affairs at GIKI, where he played a vital role in academic development and student guidance. He also served as Vice Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Rector of Foundation University, Islamabad. He also served in the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and UET Lahore. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to higher education and engineering, he was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2004.
The GIKI community fondly remembers his vision, leadership, and service. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give strength to his loved ones to bear this irreparable loss.
