HAINA

GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together, develop a cooperative working relationship and bridge the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge and skills gap. Under the MoU, Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) has been set up at GIK, which authorizes the Institute to deliver Huawei certification courses to its students. The collaboration will offer students a greater opportunity to learn the latest industrial trends and technologies and become Huawei certified in support of their subsequent careers in the ICT industry. Through the HAINA program, both organizations will cooperate to support the regional ICT education, share knowledge, and build a better ICT talent eco-system. The MoU will also allow GIK to work with Huawei to explore other opportunities for collaboration between the two organizations.

The Huawei Academy was inaugurated by Mr. Zhao Lijian, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China on 10th April, 2018. The Academy is currently offering the professional Huawei Certified Network Associate (HCNA) trainings and plans to offer more advanced level trainings in future. Students receive their certification vouchers at gratis from Huawei at the end of the training.

The HAINA training is open to both graduate and undergraduate students. In order to register for the training, you are required to print and complete the Application Form (available here) and get it signed by  your Dean/Head of Department. Dispatch the duly completed and signed application form to the following address by 21^st June, 2019.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Note that seating is limited, so apply as early as possible.

All the students trained by GIK-HAINA are eligible for availing the discounted certification exam vouchers (50-100% discounts) from Huawei. Training of the four batches of GIK-HAINA has been successfully completed and students have received their 100% discounted free HCNA (R&S) certification vouchers worth 200 USD (approx. 28000 PKR).

Each shortlisted candidate will be required to pay Rs. 14,000/- as a one-off course fee. GIK students pay a subsidized course fee of Rs. 11000/-  The course consists of 40 hours of training and hands-on practice on Huwaei cutting edge technologies. 

Both undergraduate and postgraduate students and computer science and IT faculty may apply. The minimum requirement is that a candidates enrolled in 2^nd year (or above) undergraduate Computer/IT related undergraduate programs may apply.

Note: Students from other universities are responsible for their own travelling, dining and accommodation arrangements. GIK is not responsible for above mentioned expenses.
