Qualifications: MS International Financial Management (University of West of Scotland, Glasgow, United Kingdom)
Research Interests: International Finance, Financial Institutions & Markets, Corporate Finance and Strategy, Financial Instruments, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Financial Markets Structure and Efficiency.

Background

Mr. Waqas Rehman is the Research Associate of Finance and International finance at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology. He has completed MS degree from the University of West of Scotland, Glasgow UK. He also holds a Chartered Membership in Management and Leadership from Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Birmingham UK. He joined GIK in September, 2017. Prior to joining GIK, he was a lecturer of Finance specialized courses in Air University, Islamabad and NUML University, Islamabad and served as a trainer of Accounting/Finance related professional software’s to undergraduate students.

Professional Experience

Mr. Waqas teaching interests at the undergraduate levels include corporate finance, international financial management, Financial Accounting, Financial management and risk and return, and other related areas. Additionally he worked as a financial advisor to multiple manufacturing related companies in Pakistan and United Kingdom. Also he is an Advisor to Incubation department of GIK Institute. 

 

Research Interest

Mr. Waqas has research interests in Corporate Finance of Multinational companies and risk and return issue for profit and non-profit organizations.  He is currently working on his research papers and is in process of sending some papers to a good quality journals including International Small Business Journal and ABACUS (A journal of Accounting, finance and business studies).
