Projects (GIKI Seed funding)-Small Funding
Driver Profiling:The driver profiling system consists of two main modules i.e. Software & Hardware. The hardware part of the system consists of different vehicle components such as driving seat, steering wheel, a gear assembly, indicator, accelerator and brake pedals etc. These components have switches connected to them to identify any activity on these components. The data coming from all these switches are fed to the micro-controller which in turn serially transmits it to the Software part. The software simulator environment serially receives the data from the micro-controller and controls the vehicle dynamics based on this data. The profiler records the data sets, coming from the micro-controller, and compares it with the standardized patterns of different profiles and categorizes the driver accordingly.
Gesture Recognition System for Hearing and Speech Impaired: Many normal people do find difficulty to communicate with deaf or hearing impaired individuals. Commonly people do not understand the gestures performed by the deaf or hearing impaired person. This project aim to give hearing or speech impaired people a new hope, a hope in shape of a user friendly system that helps them to communicate effectively.
Modular Interactive Tiles: This project deals with the evolution of entertaining games using the concept of tangible tiles. Here, tangible tiles are used to construct an interactive playground where the player can play different games and also give feedback related to each game. The games implemented are predator/prey games which demand physical activity amongst the users and therefore act as a tool to be used against obesity.
Smart home application for energy conservation & security: “Smart Home” is the term commonly used to define a residence that has appliances, lighting, heating, air conditioning, TVs, computers, entertainment audio & video systems, security, and camera systems that are capable of communicating with one another and can be controlled remotely by a time schedule, from any room in the home, as well as remotely from any location in the world by phone or internet. In a nutshell, it’s you having the ability to control your home’s lighting, thermostat, security, appliances and more –from almost anywhere.
Brain Computer Interfacing-Based Computer Gaming:This study assessed the possibility of implementing a brain computer interface (BCI) based software solution for people with motor disabilities. The traditional use of mouse or keyboard for interaction with the computer is not applicable in this case so the basic theme of the project is to help them communicate easily with computers using brain signals. The aim was to use BCI devices like the NeuroSky MindWave to discover hidden patterns of the brain signals that are accurate and reliable to be used as real-time input of interactive multimedia applications.
