SOPHEP Society under the Department of Student Affairs organized All Pakistan Event named as GIMUN and Moot Cup on 2nd, 3rd, 4th December 2022. There were around 200 participants from different universities/Institutes of Pakistan.
GIKI MODEL UNITED NATIONS (GIMUN):
It is a realistic simulated experience of the United Nations; GIKI Model United Nations or GIMUN is a paradigm of the actual united nations conferences with their respective committees. Through this module the participants were encouraged to tackle global issues which the world is impacted by including social and international issues and to develop the skills to tackle the debate at hand.
GIKI MOOT CUP:
In this module the participants took part in simulated court or arbitration proceedings, usually involved drafting memorials or memoranda and participated in oral arguments. Moot Court Competition tend to focus on municipal law such as criminal law or contract law. In a moot court, everything was carried out identically as in a real court. All the students/participants were assigned the topics, the participants were then engaged to carefully read and analyze the given legal issue, along with statutes and precedents governing the said area of law.
Different higher education consultancy firms were also invited to educate the students regarding the promotion of the higher education in different countries.
The participants were entertained with the Theme dinner and concert followed by the closing ceremony.
