Mr. Tughral Ali currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Head of UBL Pay at United Bank Limited (UBL), where he leads initiatives in digital payments and financial inclusion. His career spans over two decades, marked by significant contributions to the fintech landscape.An alumnus of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), Mr. Ali completed his Bachelor’s in Computer Systems Engineering. He furthered his education with an MBA from Warwick Business School and an MS in Management Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was a Sloan Fellow.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ali has been at the forefront of integrating technology with financial services. He played a pivotal role in launching Easypaisa, Pakistan’s first mobile money service, and led digital banking initiatives at FINCA Microfinance Bank. His international experience includes heading the Africa region for MicroEnsure, focusing on microinsurance solutions.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Ali is passionate about the arts and education. He has engaged in theater as an actor and director and has taught communication skills using theater techniques at MIT.
