This course introduces the theory and practice of production management as a functional area in the management of business enterprise. This course will discuss the principles, concept and basic problems affecting manufacturing and non-manufacturing firms. Topics covered will explore Tangible & intangible functions of production, Discrete & continuous manufacturing processes & systems, Conventional & system approach to Design, Production planning & Control, Process planning, Quality control, Quality assurance, Assembly methods, Packaging, Production work measurements, Production standards, Production philosophies.

Hours: XYZ where X = Lecture, Y = Lab, Z = Credit
All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
