Introduction to power electronics, power switching devices and circuits, rectifying circuits, single-phase and three-phase rectifiers, thyristors, commutation circuits, AC voltage controllers and stabilizers, DC to DC converters, single-phase and three-phase DC to AC inverters, industrial applications of power converters, DC and AC motor drives.

Pre-requisites: EE332, EE313
Co-requisites: none

Hours: XYZ where X = Lecture, Y = Lab, Z = Credit
All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
