Resources and reserves of ores; Principles of extraction, crushing, grinding and separation; Unit operations and processes; Pyro-hydro-and electro-metallurgical extraction processes; Extraction of Cu, Ni Cr, Al, Zn, Mg, Pb, Sn and precious metals; Modern production methods-direct-chill, strip, rheocasting, squeeze and cosworth processes; Physical and mechanical properties of cast and wrought allows; Alloy and temper designation; application of non-ferrous alloys in automotive and aerospace industry; structure intermetallics e.g. NiAl, Ti3Al.
