Overview of chemical and physical characterization of nano-structures, High resolution scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM), ESEM, Ion Milling and focus ion beam (FIB) milling techniques, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and EELS, atomic force microscopy (AFM), STM, and XRD. HR-TEM and related techniques, Holography and Tomography. Nano-indentaion, nano-tribology and surface properties, Thin films and nanostructures characterization.

Hours: XYZ where X = Lecture, Y = Lab, Z = Credit
All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
