Legal and Ethical Dimensions of Engineering ProfessionHours: 3 0 3

The course introduces students to ethical and moral issues they are likely to confront as engineers such as the vital impact their work has on health, safety and welfare of people, major theories of moral development and codes of ethics prescribed by professional bodies and case studies illustrating ethical and moral dilemma engineers have to cope with. The legal component deals with the constitutional provisions regarding fundamental human rights, principles of natural justice, basic aspects of contract law, arbitration, partnership, evidence law, labor laws, and drafting legal documents used in contractual transactions.

3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
