Fundamentals of engineering materials – crystal structure, effects of stress on structure, mechanical properties, solutions and phase diagrams. Metals and alloys – steels, cast irons and superalloys. Processing, properties and applications: engineering ceramics; polymeric materials; composites; biomaterials and semiconductors.

All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
