Introduction to 16-bit microprocessor, software model, addressing modes, instruction set, assembly language programming, hardware model, read/write cycles, exception/interrupt processing, interfacing to ACIA, PIA, PI/T, DMA, A/D, D/A converters, introduction to microcontrollers and embedded systems.

All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
