This fundamental first semester course introduces the basics of computer science to students. It provides the students with the necessary breadth and gives a bird-eye view of the whole computer science program. Material covered will include basics of computer organization and hardware, operating systems, networking and the internet, algorithm development, software engineering, databases, etc. The course will also discuss the use of computers in various domains and recent and future trends in IT.
