Inherent physical, thermal, electrical and mechanical properties of ceramics. Ceramic structures, hierarchy of structures. Powder processing, powder properties to structure relationship. Cold pressing and slip casting. Theoretical aspects of sintering, different techniques of sintering. Heat treatment of ceramics with some known examples. Vitrification process in glasses. Study of different glass systems. Glass production techniques.

Hours: XYZ where X = Lecture, Y = Lab, Z = Credit
All hours are per week.
3 Lab hours constitute 1 credit hour
1 credit hour implies 1 lecture of 50mins per academic week. 16 weeks in total.
