The objective of this course is to expose students to the principles and methods of business research and designed to encourage them to explore application of theories that have been predominantly developed in Western cultures by using different research method techniques. An understanding of the relevance of Western research for local practice would help students to explore various business related problems and their plausible solutions from indigenous perspective. Topics would include: introduction to research methods in business and management disciplines; literature searching strategies; literature review; research paradigms and approaches; theory and research; introduction to SPSS; quantitative research design; internal and external validity; survey based research; case study research; quantitative and qualitative data analysis; and writing research proposals and thesis.
