Physical chemistry of iron and steels, direct reduction and smelting, contemporary and modern steel making, extraction of Cu, Ni, Cr, Al, Zn, Mg, Pb, Sn and precious metals. Carbon and low-alloy steels, high-alloy steels, stainless steels, tool steels, modern steels, superalloys, cast irons, ADI, light alloys, aluminium, magnesium and titanium alloys. Direct-chill, strip, rheocasting, squeeze and Cosworth processes.
