99 Technologies establishes Rs.10 M One-Chair Endowment Fund at GIKI with support of GIKI Alumni Association for scholarships to deserving students of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology.
The endowment of Rs one crore created through donation by 99 Technologies will be invested, and its income will be utilized to provide an annual scholarship to outstanding students, enabling them to pursue cutting-edge engineering and technology education at GIK Institute. This initiative, undertaken with the efforts of the GIK Alumni Association, aligns with Pakistan’s national development agenda and global sustainability targets, emphasizing the critical role of education in driving socio-economic progress.
Engr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President of the Board of Governors, SOPREST and GIK Institute, hailed the collaboration: “This partnership is a great gesture and exemplifies our vision to nurture talent and innovation. By bridging industry, Alumni, and academia, we are not only investing in individuals but in the future of Pakistan.”
Mr. Safi Uddin, Chief Technology Officer of 99 Technologies, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to social responsibility: “Education is the cornerstone of progress. Through this endowment, we aim to create pathways for deserving students to thrive in engineering fields, who otherwise can’t afford to study in renowned educational institutions like GIKI. The beneficiaries will ultimately contribute to Pakistan’s technological advancement.”
Mr. Shakil Durrani, Executive Director, SOPREST informed the participants about the merit-based system of GIK and an independent BOG comprising renowned personalities from civil society and senior Government servants. He appreciated the voluntary charity by 99 Technologies which will continuously benefit the outstanding students. The Chief Technology Officer of the company Mr. Safi Uddin, while speaking on the occasion, took pride in making donation to a renowned university like GIK Institute for talented students.
