The decision of the Government regarding closure of educational institutions.

Circular

Reference is invited to the decision of the Government regarding closure of educational institutions. The GIK Institute will accordingly remain closed w.e.f 26th Nov. 2020 to 10 January, 2021. However, the online classes and midterm exams will continue as per schedule. However, the exams on Friday 27th November, 2020 will be rescheduled.

2.         Considering the directions by the government, one third of the students may be allowed to stay back in the hostels. Graduate students, students with connectivity issues and / or those making special requests, on account of air travel or any other reason, duly endorsed by the concerned Dean, may also be allowed to stay at campus.

3.         For the remaining students, the following instructions are hereby issued:

i.        The students will vacate the hostels. The matter has been considered and it has been decided that they may leave the luggage in their rooms but no valuables should be left in the rooms. They will be doing so at their own risk and Institute shall not be responsible

ii.      Transport facility will be provided for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Peshawar. The buses will depart in accordance with the following schedule.

The students will pay the cost of ticket @ Rs. 200/- per seat for Islamabad/Rawalpindi/Peshawar and Rs. 1000 for Lahore. Covid-19 instructions including social distancing and face mask will be strictly enforced in the buses.

iii.     In case private buses are hired for transportation of the students, the cost of ticket will be paid by the students.

iv.    Allotment of rooms for the students who would be allowed to stay back in the hostels, as may be required, will be reviewed and adjusted by the management.
