GIK Institute lost a pillar on June 27, 2020, when late Mr Toshio Fujita passed away in a local Hospital in Islamabad.

Late Mr Fujita was appointed as an Associate Professor of practice in the GIK Institute in 2016. His areas of expertise included International Business and Development Economics. He contributed his erudition of business to the Management Sciences Department for four years.

He was a teacher par excellence and an inspiration for his students and colleagues. Besides, being an experienced and mature professor, he would display an exemplary energy in putting together an environment in the class, where the students were eager to imbibe knowledge from him. Despite being of Japanese origin, he gelled into the Pakistani culture and considered it as his second home. He left many friends in Pakistan.

In the 284th meeting of the Governing Council of the GIK Institute held on July 2, 2020, everyone in the council expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Late Mr Toshio Fujita. His services for the department were eulogized and his death was termed as a great loss for the Department of Management Sceinces and the GIK institute.

He will be remembered by GIK for being a benchmark in his teaching expertise and high level of integrity which was above board.

The Council while paying tributes and condoling the death of Mr. Toshio Fujita resolved to send the resolution to the members of bereaved family to share the moments of grief with them.
