GIKI Students’ project Sign Sathi translates text into sign language using an avatar in real-time. The project also qualified for the Microsoft Imagine Cup Global Semi-Finals. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, awarded a souvenir to Team Sign Saathi during an event.
The project Sign Saathi is developed by GIKI undergraduate students Haider Irfan,
Hammad Anwer, Mian Akbar Jan, and Qazi Suleman Arif Ali under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zahid Halim.
Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Prime Minister Youth Program Chairman, also attended the event. Mr. Rana Mashhood emphasized the crucial role of technology in empowering Pakistan’s youth, stating, “Equipping our graduates with the latest technological skills is paramount to ensuring their success in the competitive global landscape. Events like this pave the way for a more collaborative and future-proof education system. A big kudos to Microsoft for organizing these events.”
