More than 80 leading Pakistani and global companies attended the GIKI Career Fair 2024 to recruit GIKI graduates and offer internships to students.
The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) recently hosted its highly-anticipated Career Fair on February 21, 2024. Over 160 companies registered for the event, 90 opting to set up the stall. The Career Fair was attended by top-tier companies from Pakistan and around the world, including OGDCL, Proctor & Gamble, S&P Global, Schlumberger, PPL, HBL, and PTC, to name a few. These companies interacted with students, conducted interviews, shortlisted candidates, and extended job offers to final-year students while offering internships to third-year students. Another distinguishing feature of the event was that it was the first AI-powered career fair organized by GIKI in collaboration with Botnostics Solutions.
The event featured a dedicated hall for educational consultants to guide GIKI students in securing top scholarships and consultancy for higher education at leading global universities. Participating companies praised the high caliber of GIKI graduates and acknowledged the talent pool of GIKI students present at the Career Fair.
The event’s highlight was the inaugural ceremony, which was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ahmed Hayat Lak, Managing Director, OGDCL, Mr. Shakil Durrani, Executive Director SOPREST, Prof. Dr. Fazal A. Khalid, SI, GIKI’s Rector, Pro-Rectors, Deans, Faculty, Company representatives, and Students. The Chief Guest presented GIKI souvenirs as tokens of appreciation to about 20 Platinum and Gold Sponsors of the Career Fair.

Speaking on occasion, Mr. Ahmed Hayat Lak, Managing Director, OGDCL, deeply appreciated modern technology’s professionalism and quality education and eulogized the collaboration agreement signed with GIK. He further stated that the company will explore the avenues of further collaboration between OGDCL and GIK Institute.
During the opening remarks at the Career Fair, Prof. Dr. Fazal A. Khalid, SI, Rector of the GIK Institute, welcomed participants and expressed gratitude to the corporate partners who participated in the event. The Career Fair is considered one of the year’s most important events. Executive Director, SOPREST held discussions with various companies to explore potential collaborations and joint projects with GIKI and offered them full support of the BoG of GIK. The participants interacted with the faculty members and expressed their desire to collaborate with the institute in various fields.
