An enlightening two-day workshop on the Accelerated Chip Design Cycle was held with participation from renowned organizations and academic institutions, including NECOP, NRTC, PAEC, Air University, and IBA Sukkur. The workshop aimed to provide profound insights into high-performance chip design.
The workshop focused on gaining profound insights into high-level synthesis and chisel-based programming pivotal to the chip design cycle, fostering an understanding of innovative approaches in semiconductor technology. It aimed to elucidate the crucial role of semiconductors in upcoming high-tech revolutions and to develop proficient human resources adept in chip design.
Rector, GIKI Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, SI, warmly welcomed the chief guest, Dr. Sajid Baloch, SI, TI, and the spirited participants. He emphasized the seminal importance of semiconductors and highlighted their instrumental role in impending technological breakthroughs.
Dr. Sajid Baloch, the distinguished chief guest, presented an overarching perspective on the global ecosystem surrounding chip design. He explored the advancements made by other nations in this domain and elucidated the imperative steps that Pakistan needs to undertake. He underscored the escalating demand for semiconductors and chip design experts, emphasizing the urgent need to cultivate more specialists in this pivotal field to meet the rapidly growing human resource requirements.
