Design Build Fly Competition-16 (DBFC-16)
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Society (AIAA) under the Department of Student Affairs organized an All-Pakistan event on 25th, 26th, 27th November 2022 named as Design Build Fly Competition-16 (DBFC-16) at GIK Institute. There were 100 participants belonging to 20 teams from diverse backgrounds. The competition not only validated analytical skills but also encouraged innovation.
The teams followed design constraints to design and fabricate specialized Radio-Controlled (RC) Planes and performed various maneuvers like the vertical loop and the circuit loop and other difficult maneuvers topped with the inverted flight carrying payloads. Payload dropping with parachute assistance made the flights even more exhilarating.
The sequence of the competition started from a warm welcome and presentation on Friday followed by technical inspection, a quiz and viva on Saturday, and finally Flight Assessment on Sunday. Top three teams who were awarded top scores, with payloads dropped near the bull’s eye won the competition
The participants were also entertained with the Qawali night and a theme dinner. The three-day event was successfully organized to polish the skills of the students of the GIK Institute and the participants of the other universities/institutes.
