A Start-up from Catalyst GIK Incubator, PrepareHOW, won 2nd prize along with a cash prize of PKR 250,000, at the Social Innovation Challenge 2019 held on 16th March in Islamabad. The nationwide contest received a great response from all over the country. After thorough rounds of solid scrutiny of 98 startups, top 10 were selected for the final round. The short listed teams were asked to pitch for the final round which then was followed by a Q/A session.

PrepareHow is an EdTech Start-up which provides digital platform for the underprivileged students to prepare for the university entrance exams, they were also recipient of a grant worth PKR 0.5 Million from the Planning Commission of Pakistan to develop an offline app with preparation material for rural areas. Oxfam in Pakistan organized the Social Innovation Challenge (SIC) 2019 at National Incubation Centre, Islamabad. PrepareHOW pitched their idea to the judging panel which included Shahnaz Kapadia – CEO Mera Maan, Parvez Abbasi – Project Director NIC, Sayed Ahmed Masud – Director Founder Institute Islamabad, and Mansoor Malik – Founding Vice President TiE Pakistan. H.E Ardi Stoios-braken – The Ambassador of Netherlands to Pakistan also attended the event in support of this initiative by Oxfam.

The contest asked for ground-breaking initiatives on the issues like Water crisis, Literacy in Pakistan, participation of young women in workforce in Pakistan, and Combating harassment of women at public spaces.
